I just picked this up Friday, and I really haven't had a chance to let the club know, because I've been...ah...a little busy playing this thing!!   It's a Series II 4 String, Spalted Maple Front and back, Ebony Neck Laminates (A MUST HAVE!!), Continuous truss rod cover and hum canceller, and the Elf Rune initials.

That is one cool bass. I'm really getting the fever. My wifes gonna kill me!

Ah yes, what would a picture of an Elvish bass be without a bit of ken's sneaker somewhere to be found. Absolutely beautiful. I've never seen just the continuous wood hum canceller. What a great idea!

Beautiful, Ken! Simply gorgeous.
My eyes are turning green.

Beautiful Ken - congrats!

No oval around the Elf Rune initials? Actually, I like that - very classy.

Peace -

Damn ....I forgot her name ...nice ..beautiful !!!
I do like the Rogues with Series II guts. They are made  a little wider at the bottem-side and it's a very nice proportion versus the bass body as a whole.
Nice ...of course there is that little flaw ...but ...oh well ...i just pretend not seeing it ....HA!

Wow this has turned out to be a really nice rogue Ken. I love the bookmatched maple and the chrome hardware really sets it off beautifully.

Congrats Ken:

Absolutely gorgeous bass.  Enjoy and make lots of fine music with it.

Paul:  Just a hunch: if you ever watched the old Saturday Night Live, did you change the channel when a Coneheads sketch came on?  hehehehehe

Hey Ken, Really Nice Bass!!! I have couple of questions for You, Why is the Ebony neck lams a must, and how long did it take for this project to complete from start to finish?

WOW!!

Lots of response here. I'll try to address as much as I can.

First, thanks for all the kind words. I'm extremely happy with how everything turned out, but I've come to expect that from Alembic...and as usual, they delivered.

Olie, just work slowly on your wife...make it seem like HER idea!
Jonathan - We can turn the sneaker into a Where's Waldo kind of thing... I don't go for the natural wood on the pickups, but since the HumX sits flush with the body, I thought it would look really cool.
Tom - Yeah, when they opened the case, i kind of did a double take, but I really like how it looks...more prominant without the oval
Paul - That's Gwathnar Shadow Flame in Elvish. The saying is Bless it's pointed little head :-)
Steve- Wow back at you!! I saw your Quilted Maple beauties under construction last year. Not to mention all your others...
Keith - Yeah, that flame is to die for. I love how your spalting turned out too.
Bink See HERE about Ebony neck lams... it's all true http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/393/18726.html?1117049106

I ordered this bass right at the end of April last year, but I didn't get up to pick out my wood until mid May.
