Just thought I'd add a couple photos of the nice Tree-of-Life inlay on the fretboard of this bass.

Absolutely stunning! What a work of art.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

Very nice!  Would love to hear what you end up doing with the synth.

Wow !
The bass has Synth driver again !

I am very interested how difference of the sounds RMC PUs and Graphtech PUs. (Metal vs Plastics)
RMC PU size is slightly over size for my narrow 5 strings, that I think.

I can't decided major modify, so my piezo project is minimal modify.
But I believe Rob's bass is one of best way !

Just saw the Dregs last night in NJ and was floored to see Andy on stage again with this bass!! Highlight of the night. Was it a one night loaner? Regardless, thanks for sharing it here and allowing him to share it with us again, even if it was for one night.

Mica and everyone worked hard to prepare the bass, and he will be using it throughout the tour along with his six string bass.  Great photo, thanks for posting!

Sweet. It was nice to see him with it - totally unexpected.

I'm curious when the fingerboard inlay got added. I definitely don't remember it from back in the day.

I also recall a bass being sold at Cambridge Music in Porter Sq. in the early 90s in Massachusetts that they said belonged to Andy West. Now I'm wondering what the story was with that bass and where it ended up.

The inlay was added in the mid-80s, the bass you saw in Porter Square was likely not this one.

You can read about this bass here (I'm the guy he mentions in the second-to-last sentence, the third owner of this bass):

Yeah, I've come to that conclusion as well.

That is so awesome - I was kind of jealous because I thought they weren't going to be coming to the SF Bay Area, but I just got my tickets for Santa Cruz 4/17! I've seen Steve Morse live once, but am really looking forward to seeing this band - and this bass!
