I introduce my latest bass. The bass is 70's 5 strings bass as my 76' 421 bass except for long scale. It is my first long scale Alembic bass ! The sounds are deeper than other my basses. Especially low B's tone is very impressive ! I don't know the sound descends from scale or body wood. But Mica said Cherry body has warmer sounds.  Here is the build records.  77' 763 LSB 5-string Series I bass   top and back: Schedua  body: Zebrawood and Cherry  neck: Maple, Beech, Purpleheart, 34" long scale  fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl inlays  peghead veneers: Padouk and Rosewood  originally mde for: Rothchild  birthday: July 14, 1977

The body has thick Zebrawood accent.

Nice bass!!  The Zebrawood body lam is a really nice touch!  That's a bit of an unusual tailpiece; looks cool!  Love the fan head!

Very nice bass. What's the string spacing on it? They look very close together and the neck looks no wider at the body than the nut.

Great bass!

Hi Olie,

The neck width is just like standard 4 strings bass.
My another 70's 5 strings bass has same construction.
Please look this thread.

I have seen this style of headstock on several basses, I believe it is called the fan style headstock.  I think JAE had one and Flim Johnson had one. All in all it looks so much more balanced than the standard headstock but that's just me
