Just picked up from the good folks down at Guitar Showcase in SJ.  Came from the owners collection.  Some better pix to come....

UNTERFUNKEN:

Congrats!  Looks sweet.  So are you bringing it up the the Northern California Alembic Gathering a week from Saturday?  I'd love to check it out in person.

Joining the Series I will be an old-timer: San Francisco-built F2-B, owned and used by Phil Lesh throughout the '70's on stage and in the studio w/ the Dead.  This guy will handle both guitar and bass duties now....

Serial #105..any chance to see if Phil paid his bill?     So where can you get these lovely vintage knob-fills?  any good subs out there?

Cool! I like the large power lamp. It would look very cool with one of those old purple jewels from the Kustom amps.

I have serial number 459, which is also a San Francisco build, but it has the LED.

I bet it goes great with the guitar!

Wow, I'm jealous of you guys with the SF built F-2Bs! I thought I was cool for having the old style with the red knobs, but mine were built in Santa Rosa - still cool of course, but you know what I mean.

The story behind the different knobs can be found here.

Harry:

Thanks for the link.

They had a smooth red cap that was super-glued onto the main body of the knob.

Now I know how to fix the problem of the caps falling out!  Super glue ... who'da thunk it!
