Hello Paul, welcome to the club.  Getting build information can take sometime.  If you post pictures some members have an acute eye for wood recipes and other fun facts.

Congratulations and welcome!   Love the older ones, especially '76, a couple photos if you have a chance would be great!  :)

Bought it in the late 70's. Never sold. Had a flight built immediately and it has lived in it ever since. Stamped on the head stock is 76 & 447

Would love to know more. Tried to attach pictures but was prevented. Will continue to try.

Thank you in advance. Paul

Welcome Paul!

Sounds like you have a pristine example of an early Alembic bass. Everyone here loves  pictures so hopefully you will be able to upload them. This may help...
"First reduce the physical size; the maximum height is 1,200 pixels and the maximum width is also 1200 pixels.  Next is reducing the file size; the maximum file size if 500kB, and no more than 10 attachments per post."

Once the photos are the right size it should be easy to use the attach feature when posting. If you start with the quick reply box, type in some text then hit preview and there will be options for attaching images. Unfortunately once you attach them and hit the "Preview" button again you won't see the pictures in the preview. Once you hit "Post" they will be visible. At least that is the way it works for me.

Hi Paul would love to see pics! I have 76-270 and 76-562. I also used to own 76-214. All the 76 basses I've played are great. It was a good year!

Resolution is poor. Looking for a better tool

Thank you for your interest

Paul - Welcome to the club.
oooooweeeee!!!
Any pictures of the back?

I am a sucker for an Omega cut.... and a vintage one like that - WOW very nice.

Real nice one! Early omega cut and bridge on yours. Here's my '78

grottoli

Sooooo nice. I guess I'm the older brother.

It is a monster to play. Best sound ever... even now. No degradation over time. A testament to the quality of these basses.
