History request for Alembic Essence 6-string No. 94 K 6399 -
Hi Mica, I just acquired the above bass by swopping my Musicman 5 string Bongo for it. I would appreciate the data from its file - what sort of wood is used as the cover laminate? (This will be my second Alembic - I also own an Alembic Spoiler - shown at showcase hyperlink -http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/411/33219.html?1164220137 , and identified by you at hyperlink -http://club.alembicguitars.net/Images/394/33168.html?1163952361.)
Many Thanks, Kevin.

Maybe it's this one. The serial number for 1994 are in the 8000 range. Sometimes the stamping is not that clear.
Here is a previous request;

Correction- Its Alembic Essence 6-string No. 94 K 8399 !
Dear Slawie, thank you for an inspired piece of detective work - on closer inspection in good light, the  last four digits were 8399 not 6399. The number stamp left the right-hand side of the top part of the 8 open, so that it looked like a 6. Mystery is solved, thanks. The identification link you gave me would be therefore correct:-

Alembic Essence 6-string No. 94 K 8399 -

The bass used to be played by  an American friend of mine in Ireland (a very fine bass and guitar player) whose life was tragically cut short by a car crash in foggy weather on the way home from a gig.
