I would guess that only Metallica know more about Metallica than FC Bass. 🤩🤔👍🏾🎶
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Here's a link to the Showcase Thread for one of Jason's 'Shopnight' Persuader basses. This one is a long-scale fretless, I would guess made around the same time. https://club.alembicguitars.net/index.php?topic=25621.0

Man you are a true Metallica fan aye?

Does it show? :-)
These are my Replica's of two Newsted basses, also some JPJ action there! :D

Somehow I missed that fretless in the showcase section... Thanx for the link! That is one of the basses sold through the shop in Florida  :)

Does your case have the tape on it? IIrc all his personal basses also should have a sticker in the controls cavity with his name and catalogue number. (apparently you need a number like that when you own hundreds of basses)  ;D

Sorry for not replying for a while.

There were some stickers / tape on the case, that's for sure. But all have been removed and I found nothing inside or outside that could indicate anything. The only thing you see is the outlining. It looks like an original case though.

Now I don't want to be a bad person but... I'm playing with the idea of selling it and buying myself a 60s Fender jazz... (dream of mine). I know, why would you.
To be honest, the bass is a beast but she's also really heavy and not good to take anywhere (I wouldn't gig with an instrument this exclusive).

If there is anyone on the forum willing to negotiate a possible purchase or has a (pre-CBS) 60s Jazz they want to trade, please contact me personally. I would prefer it to selling it on Reverb to "somebody", I'd love to find someone with actual passion for the instrument :)
