I've recently agreed to buy this bass from a collector in Germany so just wondered what else Mica can let me know about it.  Am I right in thinking that a 1995 bass would not need the HF Noise modification?

It doesn't seem to have any special extra's just apart from maybe the burl maple top and the honey tint.

OK, now I think you are going to have one too many of this style!

Lovely bass!

It's likely to have not had the upgrade by the year alone. You can peak under the hood and see if there are any trimmers with blue stickers installed on the preamp card.

Looks really pretty, and you're only about 100 in line for the detail look-up

jacko

Nice bass Jazzy. Wish I'd seen it first - you already have an sII - no need for an s1 :-(

You are completely correct Jacko, but who ever needs an alembic. :-)
In reality, I'm probably gonna start downsizing once I have got used to the series basses and confident with them on gigs.

If you are interested there is another Series I beauty on sale in Switzerland that was a featured custom of the month for 1999 Burl Beauty but it has  narrow string spacing so not suitable for me. It does however have  the most incredible burl maple top, back and and neat chrome plated hardware.
Maybe you could check that out.

Jazzy:

Killer bass....beautiful burl wood top, and I love the tint!  You and I both share a love for the Europa body with Series electronics...the perfect blend of ergonomics and tone!  Play her well!

Thanks, I have to agree with you that for me also the Europa is the perfect shape for a 5 string Alembic bass. It's all paid for now and on it's way over so it should be here early next week from Germany all being well.

I still have GAS for a recently made high spec Short scale 4 string Series I or II at which point I will sell off my black and purple basses to pay for it, then I'm finished with buying.

Just finished 10 trips round the sun with this one now and it's the most gigged of my series basses.
