Great news Jonnytb, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing some pictures of your new bass as are the rest of us here. Is this your first Alembic?
Welcome to the forum and please let us know how your first gig with the bass goes. :-)
The sound of Alembic is medicine for the soul!

Here's the details from the instrument file:

serial number: 77-929
model name: Series I
model number: LBI4
top: Maple
body: Mahogany
back: Maple
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 34" long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: mother of pearl
originally made for: Rothschild
birthday: January 3, 1978

Our distributor sold this bass to Vic Zinn Music in Noblesville, Indiana in January of 1978. Vic Zinn was actually the very first Alembic dealer. The bass was sent back to us in 1979 for "damage to the neck" which we recorded as repairing and refinishing the peghead area. That's all there is in the file.
