I am thinking of buying this beauty as my first Alembic bass and wandered if you had some info on it. It is a 5 string and the gentleman selling it to me appears to be a great guy. I was also wandering how much are these going for nowadays. I do appreciate your help.

There's an earlier thread requesting the build record for 92H7242, except it turned out they got the serial number wrong and it was actually 92H7247, a 4 string. Build details for both instruments are on that thread.

That is pretty sweet.  I saw your other thread,  prices are hard to narrow down, I paid $1800 in '05 for a 5-string Essence,  I don't think it is a bad price,  it sure is a lot of bass. To some the road case adds value, but, if you are hauling that around yourself, it is pretty heavy. Regular cases pop up now and then both here and on the 'Bay.  Good luck,  hope it works out for you.

That is a nice looking 5 string you have there in your profile Kenn. Is that the Essence you were referring to.

That is the one,  my first 5 string.  I waited a long time to come by her, you get very spoiled by the Alembic sound.
