I have owned this bass for years without really knowing what it is.  
 
UPDATE:
Immediately after I posted this I saw a reference to Flip's Alembic catalogue, searched for it and found a picture of a similar model. I now believe it is a 1983 Spoiler model.
 
I would still be interested in any further details, such as information of the specifications of the pickups/electronics and original price.
