There was a seller on Ebay that was very fishy. He had four or five high end basses for auction with a BIN of $3k , BUT he doesn't reply through Ebay, only Email and his site said ships from Charlotte, NC or somewhere like that, but his store said Netherlands and all his feedback was not in English.

He had a 1980 Series 1, Ritter Roya 5'er #10/10, Fodera Emperor or something, Sadowsky Will Lee, and something else, possibly. Seemed too good to be true. Well, his store is empty now with 0 items for sale. I sure hope nobody emailed him and sent him any $$$
Item: Alembic series 1 of 1988 - 4 strings
Item number: 114455044463

Item: Ritter Roya 5 String 10th Anniversary Bass Guitar quilted redwood
Item number: 114455046743

Anyway, his seller's name was ratbike_nl
My Alembic : - 2002 Excel
                    - 1992 Europa
                    - 1991 Essence

Looked like a hijacked account.
I reported the auctions as soon as they went up.

I reported that yesterday(and the day before) also.
I wish they would take them down quicker.

what i don't get is how he has something like 99.9% positive feedback.
but this will pop up again, different seller, different shipping address, same old rip-off.
as they say in the movies anytime you see a listing like this

(edit: clever monty python clip inserted.)

That seller was hacked, as are the others when this same batch of uber rare instruments pop up.
So they were doing good until they clicked on a funky email or ? ...

Ebay should pay us for reporting fraud...it'd end right away.

it doesn't take much these days.  somebody at work opened an attachment they shouldn't have which let in a ransomware worm, took down the whole corporate network.
took 8 weeks to recover.  lotsa computers got turned into bricks.  as a result IT locked everything so tight now we can't even change our  desktop screen colors.

it's a dangerous world out there, kids.

i'd expect to see a spate of this if history's any indicator
