Anyone know anything about this one's history?

Jeff, if you're interested in that one, I'd suggest giving the folks at HQ a call. Looks like a pretty straight neck-out restoration to my largely untrained eye, but She-Who-Runneth-the-Office has a keen eye for finer details. And since it appears to have gone through the shop fairly recently, they may recollect more than is within the ad.

Good Luck.  ;)

Thanks Ed, I think I spotted a serial number which may help the investigation ;)

That sure looks like my old SS S1.  Sold it about 12 years ago to someone in Chicago area.  It was 77, 788, I think, but I'm not totally sure.  I kind of wish I had it back...

I'll guess schedua, both top and back.

Pretty bass. Reminds me a little of Featured Custom "Rhumba Retro".   8)

Looking at both this one and an older similarly priced small body, shorty series I on Reverb. The older one has only a single Truss rod as opposed to the now traditional dual. Has anyone who has had experiences with both let me know what I should expect in an area of the country where truss rod tweaking is absolutely necessary because of one changes in humidity.

I'm in the northeast with plenty of seasonal climactic changes (and humidity!).  I have Alembics with both single and dual truss rods.  I have no problem with adustiments and getting the neck set up right.
