jazzyvee

No I don't think it's too expensive, It is expensive thats all, but then we seem to pay a premium in Europe for used alembics due in part, I think, to the rarity value.

The Alembic Tree Of Life inlay on that bass alone is $6000 in the quote generator so thats about ?4000, all the hardware looks gold plated too so thats worth a bit.

Are you considering buying then Jacques?

I would be interested if I could contact the seller. I would most likely have to sell one of my Graphite series II's.

pierreyves

If I had the cash now, I will try to hjave for about 7000 USD, but It's necessary to see and play it before. From 1991 ? Ok the electronic is certainly safe. It's the second short scale I see to sale in Europe from 4 years...

With that wood and inlay work? I could see someone paying maybe $7-10K for it in the US. Without the neck inlays, somewhere around $5-6K with the power supply. With any rare instrument, the variation can be quite great. For the right buyer, the asking price is probably fair.

pasewark

It's beautiful! If I had the cash I'd fly to Europe and pick it up myself! !

skyboltone

I don't know much but it sure seems to me that Bsee has the angle here. If I had the dough I'd go for it.

sonicus

I agree _ what's there  here not to love!  Donald is right , If one were to have the cash to pick it up in person , we know about those shippers ; UPS,   etc ... ... .

jacques2956

Yes i'm considering buying then. I'm contacted the seller Tuesday and i'm going see it next Friday. i hope everything is OK

A great work of art - gorgeous - sure it sounds great too -hoping a buyer and seller come to terms that please them both and support the values of all of our instruments. I'm with Jazzyvee, Bsee and Skyboltone on this.  Great looking bass - among the most beautiful instruments I've ever seen.
