I was impressed by this and the others on Walker's site.

It's a very nice guitar but I'm struggling to see why he has Alembic in his listing title.

I don't like the weird lump on the back of the head:  this seems to be a feature on all of them.  Won't be trading my Alembic for one!

Very purdy instrument.  IIRC, Jonathan Levine has one of these on order or may have received it already.  The listing is inaccurate regarding the electronics in Jerry's guitars.  Gary Brawer did Jerry's electronics.  All of the pics are lifted directly from the Scott Walker site, so a BIG red flag is waving.  I think I'll email the seller for some more pics.

Mark:  I'm not sure what you mean.  Are you talking about the volute, the area on the back of the neck where it joins the headstock?  (Not visible in the ebay listing, but pics on the Walker site?)

Jacko I think he wants people looking for Alembics to find it and see the connection with Jerry and hopefully buy it.

How you getting on with your MK?
Are you going to see RTF?

Yes Bill, I guess I do mean the volute: I've never seen such a protuberant one before.

is it style over function though? Does that type of volute give any better strength than others?

jazzy.
The MK is fantastic. I'm still finding new tones although I guess I don't make many changes through a gig, maybe just flicking the Q forward or back depending on the type of song and making very small changes with the pan and filters.

If RTF come over here there's no way I'll miss them. I can't afford to go to the states though:-(   Have they announced dates yet? I see Level42 are announcing a uk tour next october.

Bill,  CAE's website credits the original CAE preamp's design to John Cutler.

If Jerry used a Cutler designed preamp, Gary Brawer installed it.  My understanding (from Gary) is that Jerry brought both his Irwins and Cripes to Gary upon receipt to have the electronics ripped out and redone.  Neither Irwin, nor Cripe were electronics guys.

By the way, I still haven't received a response to my request for some specific pics (that aren't on the Walker web site).  Also, this is a no Paypal auction - money order or cashiers check only.  VERY SUSPICIOUS.

The seller has removed the listing.  I never received a response to my questions.  Be careful out there!
