Just got back to the States and I'm happy to say this bass is on its way to Santa Rosa for the proper corrections.

Oh man, that's a beauty... Can wait to see how it will look after restoration, it will be a great bass!
The bass player's function, along with the drums, is to be the engine that drives the car... everything else is merely colours.
