If someone wants I could probably hook you up with my brother in law. I bet he'd pick it up and ship it for someone.

Wow.  Those are NICE basses.  Damned near bought one myself 20 years ago in my pre-Alembic days.

These were from the 80's when Hartley had made the investments to really build nice guitars in Mississippi.

These came in two versions, p/u-wise.  The first had those utterly horrible single-coil 'Super Ferrite' pickups also used in Dyna Basses of that era:  Combined with that tone circuit, it was just dreadfully thin IF you wanted an open clean sound.  Cranked with a bunch of 100hz thru SVT's nobody noticed.

This is with the much better, then-new VFL pickups, no doubt modeled a LOT after AXY's.  This particular axe is cheap enough I'd buy it, junk the Peavey vol/tone network and replace with a Bart or EMG vol/tone/3-band replacement (after all, the holes are already there), and have a ball.  Well built enough to last a long time.  If it's sound body-wise and no issues, that's a lot of bass for $350.

I recently picked up one of these for $425 and think it was a steal. This is a REALLY NICE bass in every way. The build is first rate. I happen to like the electronics/pickups - fat & focused with nice girth. It sits in the mix wonderfully.

I recommend this bass highly - and I agree, it's whole lot bass for that kind of money.
