I went and played it today. Total GAS (BAS?). The pictures don't do it justice. It looks brand new for 1987. I'm trying to figure how I can carry three other instruments for a trade on the subway. Or just calm down and let somebody else enjoy it.

Very cool Distillate with the small body. Do you know the scale length? Price is decent.

He was going to measure it. Then got distracted. It's shorter than my one pickup Distillate. I looked at the add again and don't see the scale length. Just the weight.

When I went back the 2nd time I noticed how faded the fret markers where. Are they meant to be that way or is it the aging? The side markers are almost invisible but my Distillate is the same way.

They are most likely tarnished with age, whether tiny silver, or slightly larger bronze. (I don't know what came on these, but I'd guess brass) There are a number of threads here detailing how to bring them back about, and a couple opinions on what is the best way. Whatever you go with, they will shine like new money.

No worries... those threads are actually easier to find by keyword. The pearloid ovals of that timeframe tended to 'disappear'. It's common. For whatever reason, it doesn't happen to all of them... my '89 Persuader's ovals are brilliant. A few numbers away there is a Spoiler with pearloid ovals that are virtually invisible.

Thank you. I was going to try and trade a valuable guitar and the one pickup distillate for it but the guitar was out of their range and they aren't popular enough in Japan. I was surprised at their offer on the distillate and it left me obsessed whether or not I should pay the difference. It's a little bit shorter than my distillate and easier for me to play. The color also sticks in my head.

Now it is mine.

Thank you. I'll be adding it in the Distillate showcase when I get a moment to take more photos. The store listed it as a SC but the electronics are Distillate.
