Could be... Imagine a bass player playing on the stairs stumbeling over his cord... Ouch! But then again, who would play a plugged in bass on the stairs?

 If th electronics are fine, this could be a nice deal. It's still an Alembic

Electronics could be changed - four knobs isn't correct for a stock Spoiler...

The four knobs are strange indeed, but the Q switch could be replaced by a 2 way rotating switch I guess?
 
If it's the same guy that has left his wife or got kicked out, then I think it's really scary... since he lives in the USA now, could she be that bad? -LOL-

Lol, I was thinking the same thing.  Maybe she decided to chop down a tree or take a swing at ol' Jaydee with that one.

Could this be the USA Whippet's Dinkel?

The knobs don't look stock; I would think that's a good indication the electronics aren't Alembic.  Any interested buyers should ask for a picture of the control cavity.
