Here is something you don't see every day, a recent Classico model in Cocobolo.

That is one powerful looking instrument !

Hit the first note , all the paintings fall off the walls !

Neighbors might even think it's an earthquake !

Wow!...Wow!...oh Wow!  Speechless and I have not played upright in 25 plus years

Looking at purchasing a relatively large piece of art in coco bolo from an artist in Costa Rica for a section of the house we just finished (see below). This might be an alternative  Wondering if I could convince my spouse that this Classico is a piece of art (of course we all know it is, but my wife would likely look at it as just another bass).

Good golly, that is a beautiful instrument.  8)

I think sometimes, if there ever is to be another Custom Alembic in the cards for me, it's going to be some variation on a Classico. Reality kinda' wins the day right now, but wow... I'd really like to start that thread.

That is stunningly beautiful to look at.  It must sound amazing.

The Classico looks great in cocobolo!

I saw this in person at Alembic before it was complete, during the finish phase. While these are great photos, they don't do it justice. Cocobolo is notoriously difficult to photograph and this is no exception. A beautiful bass which took years to build.

After going through the build thread from start to finish, I'm astounded that this one is up for sale (at any price).  I hope its by choice rather than necessity and the the Rf interference problem was eventually fixed.

What is the difference between the Classico and the Classico Deluxe?
I can't seem to find any info here on the site.

Anyone know definitevely?

A few years back, Mica posted that in addition to Purpleheart neck lams and premium front and back body lams, the Deluxe also has Ebony appointments instead of the Rosewood appointments on the Classico Standard.

You're welcome!

I should add that some Classico Standard basses have had Pau Ferro instead of Rosewood.
