There is a backstory to this sale, posted by the seller on the Alembic Musical Instruments Fanpage on Facebook.

Tragedy or Comedy, Doc? (for those of us not socially connected ;D ) That sure is a pretty guitar. There are moments I get twitchy for a better one, but my imported Les Paul & Telecaster are more than enuff 'lektric guitar for me. Lucky to be playing at all.  :P

That being said, if this modified Distillate guitar https://reverb.com/item/29224165-alembic-distillate-mod-electric-guitar-o9462?show_sold=true ever shows up here again, she's mine. A Telecaster-ized Alembic... shoot... I'm done shoppin' around.  :-*

Well, Greg, I can't find the thread now, but I seem to recall a discussion some time back of 72-02 - an actual Tele-shaped Alembic guitar, originally built for Mr. Robt. H. Weir.  (All you gots to do is pry it from the cold, dead fingers of the Hard Rock CafĂ© (or mebbe it was the R&R HoF).

My bad. I just focused on Tele Alembic. Didn't pay attention to the SN.

The one I'm thinking of has a natural finish; in the only pic I recall seeing, it was in a display case.
