I think the volume pot was replaced, as we use heat shrink tubing on those connections as well. The new picture is very small and I can't tell anything additional from it.

Yeah I can see the uninsulated resistor on the jack better in this image. It doesn't look like it's gonna hit anything where it is, we're just more than a little nutty about heat shrink tubing around here!
