I was saddened to learn that Etta James passed away today.  Wow, that lady sure could sing!  One of my most treasured concert experiences was New Years 1982/83 when she joined the Grateful Dead and the Tower of Power horn section for a midnight mini-set at the Oakland Auditorium (which later became the Kaiser).
