The Birchmere is a great room too... that'll be a great show. 

As impressive as his bass playing is, I find him as a person to be equally impressive.

Wish I could get loose that Monday evening... The Birchmere in Alexandria is a solid 4-hour hop from here, and that 5am Tuesday morning alarm is cruel and unusual punishment!

I saw him perform on a salute to the president a few months ago and he was on a cane and performed sitting down. What a performer, he blurred the lines between all styles of music!
