The Perseid Meteor Shower is tonight.  You guys on the East side of the Atlantic might want to head outside about now.  A nice padded lawn chair should work well.  And as may be appropriate for a celebration of the great cosmic dance, you might want to burn a couple bowls of .. er .. uh .. incense; and of course in some traditions libations may be shared as well.

We are getting it tonight but the weather here is cloudy but there is a chance it may break up so looking forward to the cosmic firework display

I sat out for a while last night, but the clouds never broke up.

Raining here on the west coast

For some reason (lucky!), the marine layer held back until 1:00 am and we were able to watch without the moon until around midnight. Saw quite a few bright ones! Wasn't even that cold.

Hoping the fog stays out tonight so we can take another look. The event has a predicted peak, but of course, that's just an estimate, so it's worth watching for a while in the days leading up to and away from the predicted peak.

Still pretty cloudy here, and the forecast is for continued mostly cloudiness.

Saw a few bigs ones, unfortunatley where I live there is a lot of light pollution so I am going to drive up the the North York Moors tonight where it is absolutely black.(about 15-20 mins drive)
