I'm really feeling a need more Alembics under my fingers, specifically a Series bass.
I can raise the funds by selling other gear. I've done alot of business on ebay over the years,
but none on Reverb. Are there any caveats for a new seller (me) that I should be aware of ?

I've had a shop on reverb.com for about eight months. (420 Guitars).  Very easy to set up and run.  They even sell shipping boxes at a good price and offer discounted UPS shipping rates and labels.  Everything is well thought out, no complaints.

After years on eBay, I started experimenting with Reverb this year. Your stuff doesn't get the same amount of exposure, but their fees are way more reasonable. Something like 3% with no insertion fees. I've sold a Ric 4003, a Hamer B12S, and a couple of pedals so far. Meeting a local buyer for my Line 6 M13 tonight as a matter of fact. No problems so far, good luck!

I've sold 3 basses and a few bits of studio gear recently on Reverb. I think the audience is way more spending happy than on Ebay and as Bill said, the fees are stomachable. The bump tool is cheap and gets the wares moving fast. I had nothing but good experiences there. Of course, ymmv ...

I like what I'm hearing.

What's a bump tool (and why)?  I imagine it's as the name suggests, but it's interesting that it would be necessary.  I haven't spent any time on Reverb, and know little about it.

On Reverb, like on eBay, you can sort by most recent listings. So... I imagine bumping makes an older listing appear new. Based on Oliver's post it sounds like you have to pay to bump.

At least there is some transparency there. It seems like ebay's approach is to sneak things in.
I sometimes have to use quotes if I'm looking for something that would otherwise trigger an algorithm.
I'll report back as the money rolls in

And here i always bump tools were a vial & a rolled-up bill........

That is correct, but it is very cheap and you only pay for the bumps you used until the item sells. If you sell your guitar somewhere else there is no charge for the listing or for the bumps. The bumps will show your listing on top of search results - it will not make your ad look "new".
