I am gonna miss that guy.

OH snap!  What a year, we've lost so many good peoples in 2009. Widespread Panic covered alot of his tunes and turned me on to him, he will be missed.

Aunt Avis, Bug, Arthur Murray, Sleeping Man...the list goes on and on. His voice was hauntingly good.

I also learned of him through Widespread Panic (and his brief appearance in the movie Slingblade).  There was a startling honesty in his music that people rarely feel comfortable showing.  I wouldn't say he was one of my favorite songwriters, but in a sea of mediocrity, he was certainly a unique and compelling personality.
