Does anyone here know whatever happened to Rick, aka Gator?  Besides being the bass player, he--like most of The Tubes--was quite a character in his own right.  Thanks!

Don't know about Gator, Eric. I would like to know myself.... Their '80s hit:
She's A Beauty....and video were among my favorites of that wonderful, happy time......
_______     _______    __________
Step right up and don't be shy,
Because you will not believe your eyes.
She's right here behind the glass
And you're gonna like her,
'cause she's got class.
You can look inside another world.
You get to talk to a pretty girl.
She's everything you dream about...
But don't fall in love...

She's a beauty ---
One in a million girls,
She's a beauty.
Why would i lie?
Why would i lie?

You can say anything you like,
But you can't touch the merchandise.
She'll give you every pennies worth,
But it will cost you a dollar first.
You can step outside your little world.
You can talk to a pretty girl.
She's everything you dream about...
But don't fall in love...

She's a beauty ---
One in a million girls,
She's a beauty.
Why would i lie?
Why would i lie?

David & Fc--ask the Alembic Club and thou shalt receive!!  David, those lyrics take me back!

Fc,Thanks for the link--I appreciate it.  Looks like most of the originals are still rockin'.  Prairie Prince and I went to Central High School in Phoenix, Arizona.  I think Mike Cotten was also @Central.  I remember being in the same English class as Prairie Prince, who at that time had bad acne and a sallow complexion.  (When the TV show Beavis and Butthead was introduced years and years later, Butthead had an uncanny resemblance to Prairie.)  Well, looks like the joke was on me, huh?  Rick Anderson attended another Phoenix high school, Camelback High, which was Central's main rival. I'm really glad to see these guys back together again.

Possibly so--I notice they have some California appearances this month.

This is too coincidental. My youngest daughter likes for me to tell her stories from my childhood at bedtime. Just this week I was telling her of my first concert experience - The Tubes, way back in1978, at the Cirkus Krone in Munich. I had no idea who they were - a friend had scored a pair of tickets from the AFN station. It's still one of the best concert going memories I have, the Tubes were absolutley brilliant and entertaining. I vividly remember Rick's energy and obvious exuberance. That's an image that has stuck with me all these years - clearly a man that enjoyed what he was doing.

Didn't Steve Lukather produce 'She's a Beauty' and the album from whence it came?

'WHENCE'?!?!?
