Resetting the DSL modem has become second nature to me, and the routers too (wireless in the basement and in the loft for full-house coverage) whenever I have any issues or suspicions about connection problems.  I've got Verizon dsl, and sometimes they change DNS addresses and the modem and routers need a reboot to capture the updated information.  I miss Earthlink.
