I have a heavily modified Peavey T40 (electronics are still stock) that I'm considering converting to "stereo" output (repurpose the phase switch to select between stereo and mono).  Does anyone know any reason that this would be ill advised???  Thanks in advance!!!

I had a couple of basses with phase switches back in the day. I would make the conversion. Phase switches on basses are kind of worthless, imho.

The phase switch is definitely an unusable novelty.  My main concern is the stereo conversion.  Do I need to incorporate an resistors into the new circuitry of can I just send 1 PUP to the tip, the other to the Ring, and use the switch to connect the tip and ring (for mono output)

I am doing stereo conversions, using a dedicated mono/stereo switch that does incorporate resistors. Works great!

You might need to reverse phase the pickups, if you are doing stereo?
