That makes me very sad.  I saw him in 1981 with Niels Pedersen, and it was bliss.  Maybe they're jamming right now..
 
RIP Oscar..

I remember seeing him at the Newport Jazz Fest in the ealy 80's. It seemed like he was 386 years old then, but maybe I just young. He blew me away with his playing all the same....
