I know I'm preachin' to the choir as this subject has been well documented here but I slipped a disc over Christmas and this strap has enabled me to play gigs without making matters worse. We know that a wide strap is a good thing for the heavier basses but this one has a Neoprene surface with the perfect amount of 'give' and has made my bass feel half its weight.Highly recommended and well worth a look.

Wish I had seen this before I bought the strap for my new Europa! Where did you get it from?

The owner is a friend of mine and when he heard about my back problem he gave me a call to suggest this. It's been a real life saver this week. They do worldwide mailing but I'm sure a Sandberg dealer in the US will have one.

Thanks for the info Simon! I will see if I can find a dealer over here. I bought a 4 wide padded Levi strap & it seems to work well, but I haven't played a full gig with it yet. I have my first gig with my Europa tomorrow night so I'll see how it feels after standing with it for 3 hours.

I tried a Comfort Strap sometime ago but it was like my bass was bouncing up and down on elastic!!  I tried to pass it on but it now does nothing in my garage.

I haven't tried these but they may be another option to transferring a lot of the weight from back to hips. Plus its USA so you may find it easier.

Hello everybody,
I have a harness device that takes the guitar's weight off of the upper body and places it all on the waist and hips.  Please be advised that I am the patent holder of this harness and that this is my company. www.hoverharness.com
I will not run an ad on the Alembic club so I won't say anything more.
Email me if you would like.
Thanks,
Rich

I have used one of Rich's prototypes.
The Hover Harness is a great product that really does make the instrument 'hover' taking the weight off of the upper body.

I recommend it.
