I think it looks great either way. How does it sound? I would LOVE to be able to build something like this, with 5 strings.

Pete

I thought seriously about one of these as the core for a project like that. https://reverb.com/item/174726-ibanez-artcore-agb205-5-string-bass

I asked about this when I was planning the work, Mothership response was that the connection of a five string neck to the body wouldn't work.  But it would be cool!

Here is a link to what it sounded like with the white AXY pickups that were originally installed (through an amp and recorded with an iPhone):

I'll have to make recordings with the Fatboys that are now in it :)

I was going to question feasibility of finding a 5-string Starfire - but looks like it might do nicely; Ibanez makes some very nice instruments!

Put the Stealie sticker on the case. Pfft! I don't know why it took me a week to solve this, Rob... sorry man, I've been busy!  ::)

Up where the headstock is at. You know where I like 'em.  ;)

Thanks, Greg, the perfect spot! :)

Inlay - yes
Sticker - no

Thanks for your vote!  I think I'll just stay with the no action option  :)

Wolf's eponymous inlay began life as a sticker.   And how about Alligator?   And Phil's bass?  The right sticker can be cool, like this extremely subtle Dead sticker I recently applied to my Alembicized Tele.

You are right of course Bill, but on rv_bass's bass, to me a sticker doesn't do it justice.

That sticker on the Tele is great!

When I was out there in October, Bill gave me a sticker like his; I have not yet decided whether to put it in a similar place on my Tele or (more likely) on an acoustic case.
