Since my previous post received no answers, I thought I'd try again with a more general Subject Line.

I have a question for all of you who know more about this electronics stuff than I do. I just picked up a Demeter Real Reverb as I have never liked the sound of the Lexicon MX200 that is currently in my rack. The Demeter manual says:

Never use this unit around strong EMF fields. Noise in the signal will result!

Does this mean I shouldn't place it next to the power amp in the rack? Any help greatly appreciated.

Bill,

Technically, your power amp should be shielded and therefore not cause problems.

Have you ever heard the difference between theory and practice?

Theory: in theory, theory and application are the same
Practice: in practice, they're different.

I'd suggest trying it out, and see if there are issues.  Empirical research is your friend.

I knew I had a friend somewhere!  Thanks, Bradley.  Your suggestion makes eminent sense.

Bradley, that's exactly why I changed majors away from EE in college.  You get theories hammered into you in lecture and then step into the lab where nothing works the way you were told it should.  Dealing with people is much easier, if only because you start out with the expectation that they won't work according to some theoretical law.
