That is AWESOME.  Craftsmanship at the highest level.  Very impressive.

Here's the 1/4 size version.  He's working on a 1/2 scale size one next - two stories tall and 30' wide!

Very excellent!  The keys and bass need to be by their respective array and stacks though...:)
The only thing that stays the same is change.

I gotta admit, this movie concept seems a little weird to me, kind of like watching a Beatles cartoon.

I agree. I'm skeptical. But, hoping for the best.

The Scorsese flick, to me, on the surface it seems like a terrible idea and basically a money-grab. If Jerry was alive I doubt he would approve. I did like the meme I saw that showed them casting Iggy Pop as "naked pole-humping dude" from Sunshine Daydream, that would be worth seeing...

On the other hand the documentary being produced by Justin Kreutzmann seems like it will be a much better representation of what Jerry was about as a person. Much more excited about this than the Scorsese film.

Yeah, that was my first reaction, too.  But the involvement of the other band members - and especially that of Phil - gives me hope.

Jonah Hill should play Keith. He'd nail that part.

There seems to be plenty of video and still photos available to create quality documentaries.  If Scorsese wants to use character actors to play the parts, he might consider a fictional movie that captures the spirit of the individuals and their collective story rather than specifically portraying them. More like Kerouac with On The Road, and Dharma Bums, or the Greateful Dead songs themselves (The Other One, Cassidy, Dire Wolf, New Speedway Boogie, Casey Jones, West LA Fadeaway, Box of Rain, Attics of My Life, Ripple, Broke Down Palace, it Must Have Been The Roses, etc., etc.).  I think that would be more interesting. But maybe that is the intent.  :)

A script written around the songs? Yeah.  Having once been dragged to a high school production of _Mama Mia!_ (a nephew was in the cast........), I think your idea sounds a _whole_ lot better than that one, Rob!

I would imagine Ken Burns could do a tremendous documentary on the subject.
