Dear All,
well today October 9th is Johns birthday and he would have been 63 today.
Just wanted to bring this great bass guitarist and my personal hero back into your mind.....

And Lennon would have been, what, 67?  Happy Birthday, RIP...

Two of my all-time faves. Happy B'day, guys wherever you are!

I've always liked using Birthdays for memories and prayers.  Thanks for the reminders!

Alfred Dreyfus would have been 148 if only he lived. By the way he was a Frenh military officer. Sorry but these threads are lame......I'm only saying.

Probably better if you didn't. Oliver posted this as he has a deep fascination with John Entwistle which he often shares with us. I see no problem in raising folks awareness of one of Rock music's greatest bass players (and an Alembic fan to boot).

The first great bass player I ever saw back in '69.  And if I can only think of a snide comment, I (like the majority here) don't post!

I have nothing against celebrating the lives of people who we admired but will he would have been never end. I mean come on people, will we keep saying if Elvis was still alive today he would have been 100.

I believe the essence of this thread was geared towards the idea that it would be nice to remember those that have influenced us and now passed on, nothing more, nothing less...  They were mentioned to remind us that life can unexpectedly be cut short.  John(s) have influenced a lot of people and they could easily still be with us due to their age and is why age was most likely mentioned... but 148 year old Alfred Dreyfus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Dreyfus), eventually everyone is put to rest.

No disrespect to the memory of John Entwistle, but the story of Alfred Dreyfus has more historical impact. Think abuse of power, antisemitism, discrimination, the military as a state within the state ...

jacko

yeah but, what did he ever do on Bass? ;-)
