Well, my parents are both out of the woods....  It turns out that my mother had a staff infection in her heart.  She was able to go home (after one day shy of a month in the hospital) last week.  My father has been out of the hospital for the last three weeks.  He's starting to get some of his old strength back.  Both are doing remarkably well considering that I was preparing to say my goodbyes to both of them when I first got down there.
 
I'd like to thank all you fine people for sending so many good thoughts in their (and my) direction.
 
Life!..........Phhhweeeuuh!
 
And yes, both Alembics went with me, and saw as much playing time as circumstances warranted.
