seems right...the pawnshop I'm at had a Les Paul almost as bad; someone had routed out most of the mahogany body and replaced it with 3 pieces of mystery wood and a ton of filler, then resprayed the back; just horror...

Indeed!  But in my case it was 2 of those - in flight cases - and a piano (not an electronic keyboard, a piano), plus, of course, 4-way PA, and 2 amp racks.  The stairs were the fire escapes at 2 2nd-floor venues.
Yeah, currently recovering from my 4th spine surgery.......
