Pardon my beg to differment, but no sound guy has ever asked for "more 'me' in the monitors" - and if we think the mains need more bass & reverb, we just put it there!
Now ask me how many hundreds of times I've gotten those and similar requests from the talent (despite their being behind the mains.......).

I will add that you obviously didn't grow up male on or around farms if you've never peed on an electric fence.
And while I grew with some seriously stupid dudes, I never knew anyone stupid enough to do it twice.....
