Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

pauldo

Thanks Mario!!!!
I just 'scanned' through it and will certainly give the whole thing a  listen to.

Dear Prudence was brilliant!

mario_farufyno

I don't know much about the GD, I was just looking for some David Crosby's tunes on Youtube and found that. As they are part of Alembic's history, stop to listen and got grabbed.

Instantly thought on you, guys...
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

Thanks Mario; some nice stuff in that collection!

I do recall some particularly painful versions of Hey Jude from the late 60s.

Edwin:

I just listened to Hey Jude from March 1, 1969, at the Fillmore West. Your description of particularly painful is, unfortunately, accurate.  lol

Otherwise, the link is very cool!

That's the one. However, the rest of that run is spectacular. Well worth the price of the box set.

I found an on-line Grateful Dead radio station called Radio10 Dead and been uploading some of their music into my psyche. With respect to all, there is no danger of me taking in enough to become a bonafide dead head but what I've heard so far has been good and I will continue to listen.
I'm just now listening to a live version of Desolation Row where the guitar playing makes me think Mark Knopfler has been influenced by the tone and style of playing.

Jack Straw has just come on.

Don't worry, it's just a matter of degree in the DeadHead Spectrum Disorder.

sonicus

I perceive it as a rather fortunate development in  ones mentation.

edwin

Without a doubt. I was just being self-deprecating. Sorry to drag everyone else into it! :-)

sonicus

Edwin ,   DeadHead Spectrum Disorder ___could be complementary to a common interest and attribute to be proud of.
It might be part of the human brain's  evolutionary path towards developing more of our brains and developing higher levels of cognition .  That's what happens in a good jam with higher levels of non-verbal communication. It is the Magic .   The Dead have it, Good jazz players have it . All great musicians probably develop it to some point, You probably have it as well !
