True Graeme, but if the bass gets smashed so does his helmetless head! I do find it amusing that he's on a fake Harley with a fake Alembic!

I use a Glenn Cronkhite gig bag for my '67 Starfire and am very confident about it getting the bass around town in perfect shape. It's by far and away the best gig bag I've ever seen. I have heard a rumor that he's no longer making custom bags, but it's worth getting in touch with him. I'm sure he could set it up so that the point is protected.

Meanwhile, if anyone needs a flight case for a shorty, I've got one of the best with no bass for it?.

I had a custom-made gig bag done by Altieri bags in Denver, Colorado.https://www.altieribags.com.  Great people, and I was really, happy with the quality of their work.

Interesting. I've never heard of them.

Here's a couple of shots of my Cronkhite:

Interesting. I've never heard of them.   Here's a couple of shots of my Cronkhite. There is significant padding around the whole instrument (including the sides, where most bags don't have anything but zippers) and the leather itself is quite hefty. The pocket is also big enough to hold a big strap, 5 pin cable, DS-5 and a toolkit.

Steve, my son has an Altieri bag for his French Horn, they do make great bags!
