Just wondered (UK) what instrument insurance people find best.  I have been with Victor Knight for many, many years and total cover for guitars and amps new-for-old £12875 is £17.26 per month.  The biggest item is my Alembic Orion 4 at £7000.  I could prune that to £3000 less (PA and stuff I don't take out anymore) but still covering the Alembic to end up about £13 per month.  Any better deals?

Thanks Jazzy - that is who I am with via Victor Knight so maybe I have the best deal - just need to trim down to what I take out on gigs. I have never gone the route of relying on Home Insurance.

I don't know if they do international insurance, but in the States there are lots of people using Heritage insurance for their instruments.  I've had good experience with them and, the one time I had to make a claim, it was an easy process and they quickly paid in full.

Get a direct quote, you may get a better deal since there is no middleman. Home insurance won't usually cover you for anything you use for financial gain, such as gigs session work etc, even photographic gear. You could contact the Musician's union they can point you in the right direction.
