I felt a little light-headed, and got up to get my shoes. I passed out, did a face-plant, and suffered incomplete spinal trauma. 7 weeks of hospitalization later, I'm home! I can walk with help, and I am working on making my fingers operational again, but it will be a few months before I can play half-notes. God is good, and I am recovering with continued therapy. But please, all you (us!) old guys, if you feel faint, STAY DOWN! I wish I had!

Larry:

Good to have you back.  Hope you're jamming away with abandon soon.  It appears that the fall also must have confused you a little.  Guys our age aren't old!  LOL

Larry - Glad you're still with us!  It's amazing how just one transient little thing can change a life so completely.  For what it's worth, it often hurts me to play half-notes also.  I recommend you stick to quarters, eighths and sixteenths.  Anything smaller than that, though, and you'll confuse the singer.  ;)  Keep the chin up and take care...

Thank you all for your well wishes. My doctors and I are encouraged by my progress so far, recovery may be a couple of years total, biggest changes in the next 6 months. At least now I have an excuse for how I play! And John, I can actually play 32nd notes, as long as its just one!
