DIY- question for Series bass, 5 pin cable - what kind?

Series players,  I made my own 5 pin cable using Belden "New Generation" cable and Switchcraft connects. It works great, but I want to make another. I was wondering what the do-it-yourselfers are using for this.  

  How about the connectors? is there anything better than Switchcraft? Any tips appreciated. Thanks

I put this in a previous post.  But I will be glad to post it again!  I use Canare Star Quad cable with Neutric connectors.  It makes a GREAT cable.  You can buy the cable by the foot.  Check it out at www.markertec.com.  They even have the right angle 5 pin for the bass side too!

One question...you mention the wires not being color coded. How did you manage?

I am fortunate enough to have access to a meter that is made by Fluke.  It has a continuity tester on it.  It is just a matter of touching the ends to the tester and listen for the tone.  I think most meters have this feature, but I am not sure.
