Looks like Darol Anger has a cool new album coming out for any fans of this type of music...

I am unfamiliar with Mr. Anger, and have not yet YouTubed him to see if I'm a fan or not - but the second image down in the link is a wonderfully concise statement on why I feel lucky to of the generation am.

Peter
"Is not Hypnocracy no other than the aspiration to discover the meaning of Hypnocracy?  Have you heard the one about the yellow dog yet?"
St. Dilbert

"If I could explain it in prose, I wouldn't have had to write the song."
Robt. Hunter

Looks like an interesting project, been a fan of Darol's since the old Grisman Quintet days.

I liked the following line from the description...
"listening deeply into the music, soaking up layers of meaning that may or may not have been there;"

Oh, cool... looking at the personnel listing, this is gonna' be a great project!  ;D

Not to understate, but in recent years, Darol has been a mentor of sorts to a whole new generation of fiddlers.

For instance, Brittany Haas of PHC Band... if you ever wondered where she learned that drive, here it is:

David Houck

The Anger, Haas, and Claridge video was pretty cool.

I've had the pleasure of playing with him a few times back in the day. He's as wonderful a person as he is a player. An American treasure.
