Flip, I will have to try running the pickups out past the preamp. However, a few months ago I picked up a pretty used Fender Precision Deluxe that has a lot of great tones for the RnB/Blues/Soul I play in one of the bands I am in. I nails those tones but it does have the Precision big fat neck thing.

I had the chance to play Harry's doubleneck when I was in Oakland last month and I can confirm it's a fantastic instrument to play. It doesn't look to bad either :-) Almost made me wish I could play guitar.
