Enjoyed reading an article this morning on the Mutual Art web site about Bill Walker and the creation of the painting that became the cover art for the Grateful Dead's second LP... "Anthem of the Sun." This is still one of my favorite records and I can remember the frustration of first hearing it on the really crappy "stereo" I owned as a teenager. I was fascinated by the music but so much of the magic that was in the grooves was obscured by the lousy equipment I was listening to it on. Thankfully I had a friend with a much better stereo system and when we would all hang out there Anthem was always in heavy rotation and we could listen to it loud like it was intended to be heard.
