This is from the American Folk Blues Festival tour of Europe in 1966.  Was so bummed when I heard about Otis's passing. He and Freddie King are my favorite blues guitarists. Otis was also an amazing singer. Highly recommend the sides he cut for Cobra Records from 1956-58. A lot of his later recorded output is a bit spotty, unfortunately he had some health and emotional issues over the years but his early recordings were incredibly influential. Definitely someone who never quite got the widescale recognition he deserved but truly one of the giants of the blues scene.

Since I know there are a lot of "Deadhead" club members I will also mention Otis's 1971 release "Right Place, Wrong Time" on Bullfrog records. Recorded at Wally Heider Studios in SF with John Kahn on bass and Mark Naftalin (Paul Butterfield Blues Band) on keys. The album was produced by Bay area legend Nick Gravenites and Otis Rush.
