Hi Everyone,

In my travels I came across this site!

massive amount of beautiful wood to gaze at!!

http://www.wood-database.com/

It gives me pause to think, How great an Alembic would look with either this wood or that wood!

I have only gotten through a small portion, suppose it will take hours!!

Have a great Holiday!!

One of my personal favorites is African Bloodwood,

Here are some interesting facts about the African Bloodwood tree,

Interesting - I have a didgeridoo that was made from Bloodwood, further research would indicate that the didgeridoo (that was purchased in Australia was made from the Corymbia species that is indigenous to Australia and not the Bloodwood you linked that is indigenous to Africa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corymbia (part of the Euclaypt family)

Hello again Paul!!

All these Exotic Woods , one more beautiful than the next!

Is the didgeridoo hard to play?

Bunch of years ago I heard this on Echoes, with John Diliberto

Acoustic... it isn't hard to play, the hard part is turning off your brain (at least for me).  The circular breathing technique is easier to do when you don't think about it.... not sure if that makes sense, but after watching tutorials and reading articles it just started to work when I just DID it instead of thinking how to do it.

Sadly I haven't played it in awhile and just like anything regular practice makes it better.

To this Day I am still in awe of the Satinwood series 1 that was made for John Lodge of the Moody Blues, (With Maple finger board!!!)

Often, I had wondered why Satinwood was unavailable,

Quote from The Wood Data Base,  "Sustainable supplies of this species have been exhausted for over one hundred years; for all intents and purposes, this wood is commercially unavailable. Most genuine satinwood offered for sale today is the East Indian variety, or a substitute".
