Hey y'all.  My wife and I will be taking a road trip starting next week that will take us through Indianapolis.  We'll be staying the night and I don't know a thing about the area.  Can anyone give me some insight so I don't book a hotel in the bad part of town?

If you have the bucks book a room downtown.Lots of stuff to do, plenty of clubs such as the Slippery Noodle blues club,movies,theater, museums and such.

Wait, are we talking about the same Indianapolis?
 
Last time I was there, they rolled up the sidewalks at 5:30. Complete ghost town. Eerie like.

Thanks for the input Dave.  It looks like we're going to push on through to the North side and stay in Fishers.  Our brief stop in Indy will be at the end of a 10-hour drive day on our way to Canada for a week.
